Bhumi Pednekar, Milind Soman And Vatsal Sheth Get Trolled After They Mistake Priya Malik's World Wrestling Championship Gold For Olympics Win
Bhumi Pednekar, Milind Soman and Vatsal Sheth mistook Priya Malik's Gold at a world championship for one at Tokyo Olympics. Read on!
Indian wrestler Priya Malik has won a gold medal at the ongoing World Cadet Wrestling Championship, held in Budapest, Hungary. The social media has since been abuzz with congratulatory wishes pouring in from every corner. Many B-Town celebrities also congratulated Priya Malik for her gold medal at the world championship. There were, however, a few celebs who mistook this gold medal for one at the Tokyo Olympics, underway in Japan. Bhumi Pednekar, Milind Soman and Vatsal Sheth then took to their social media accounts to congratulate Malik for the big win, however mentioning the wrong tournament.
Milind Soman tweeted, “Thank you Priya Malik! #gold #TokoyoOlympics #wrestling welcome to Mt Olympus.” Shortly after this, Milind was slammed by netizens for such a big blunder. One wrote, “Not in Olympics...Didn’t expect this from you.” Another Twitter user commented, “Sir it's world wrestling championship and not Olympic... It is held in Hungary...fyi.”
“Kindly google little and find out in which world sporting event she won... It's not mandatory to post congratulatory tweet without knowing about it,” reads another comment.
Making a similar mistake, Bhumi Pednekar shared a photo of Priya Malik on her Instagram stories and wrote, “Baby gold gold gold gold gold gold #PriyaMalik #tokoyoolympics #olympics2021.” Bhumi must have later realised her mistake, and deleted her post.
Vatsal Sheth tweeted, “Congratulations #priyamalik on First place medal Flag of India #OlympicGames #Olympics.” Vatsal was quick to release his mistake and wrote, “Sorry not Olympics … but we are still super proud of you.”
